Edison-Mugalu

Edison-Mugalu

Edison Mugalu was born in Kayunga District, Uganda in 1983. He is one of the talented young artists that are currently contributing to the Kampala art scene. Mugalu is a full time artist without the advantage of University training; he was trained by friends, or ‘’self-taught’’ as some people prefer to call it. This fact alone has played a big role in his artistic career as many view his art as original, powerful, and most importantly, undiluted by academics which often accompanies styles of formally trained artists. His constant interaction with fellow professional artists has also helped to further his art.

He had several Solo exhibitions in Kampala, USA and participated in over 35 group shows, in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, New York, UK and Australia, and participated in several international art workshops.
