Kintu Paul, 31, from Kampala, was inspired to start painting after visiting Ngoma Art studio in Bukoto in 2003. In the beginning he supported himself by bricklaying during the day time and painting at night. He did not realize that it was possible to a full time artist until he sold his first painting at AKA gallery in 2004.
Since then he has gone on to exhibit in South Africa, the UK, and Japan. He likes to paint in native style, he says, because you can really feel it in your heart.
